An Internet Without Limits
An Internet without
limits is the goal we are all continuing to achieve. CircuitPath Network
Systems Corporation has developed a simple, innovative approach that
advances the communications industry toward this goal. The basic idea is
very simple – build a new underlayer
connectivity base on which future expansions to the Internet can be
built. This new connectivity base supports all communication standards,
both those related to transmission of information and those that support
any voice, video and data terminal equipment connected to a network. The
current Internet need not be replaced — only expanded in key
connectivity areas.
Why We Need A New Connectivity Mechanism
The Internet has grown
in an evolutionary manner based on some simple packet switching principles
— ones that were initially focused on message and file transfer only.
Expanding this approach to include voice, video and multimedia applications
has resulted in the Internet as it is today — a remarkable
accomplishment. However, this success has been achieved only by greatly
increasing the complexity of the Internet over the simple conceptual model.
This complexity inhibits the Internet's anticipated growth and inclusion of
a huge number of flow-based services such as voice, video and interactive
multimedia. A new underlying connectivity approach can simplify building
out the Internet and meet its performance requirements, and still use all
of the important parts of the current Internet — those that relate to
user and server access and the core network itself.
CircuitPath's Goal
CircuitPath's goal is
to support the many accomplishments in building today's Internet by
introducing a simple underlayer connectivity mechanism that both greatly
improves performance and reliability while overcoming much of the
complexity that has become a major inhibitor to achieving our common goal.
